We are pleased to welcome Jérôme Martinez as a new member of APTYS PHARMA’s Executive Committee.

Holding both a PhD in Pharmacy from the University of Paris XI and an MBA from HEC Paris / Keio Business School (Tokyo), Jérôme Martinez is also a graduate of INSEAD – International Directors Programme. He has held various management positions in the pharmaceutical industry in Europe and the United States, before becoming CEO of the startup Novagali Pharma, which specializes in the design and development of ophthalmological drugs.

As Novagali’s CEO from 2004 to 2011, he and his team developed a portfolio of drugs for major eye diseases in Europe and the US.

He did this by conducting several fundraisers, launching an IPO and, finally, organizing the backing of an international Japanese pharmaceutical group, Santen Laboratories Ltd, at the end of 2011.

In 2012, he participated in setting up Santen in Europe, while creating the French subsidiary of Santen Laboratories, of which he was President until 2016.

Since then, he has been taking part as a co-founder in the creation of several startups in the health sector; moreover, Jérôme Martinez is also an independent board member of several companies specializing in biotechnologies and medical devices.

His business-oriented strategic vision will help give the necessary impetus to the realization of APTYS PHARMA’s future ambitions, particularly regarding service activity. The whole APTYS team welcomes Jérôme Martinez.
